CHALLENGE / Players’ Theatre, a mainstay in the Montréal theatre scene, was returning to in-person productions for the first time following the pandemic. They put out a call for director-producers who could stage a show to kick off this important season, drawing audiences and operating within tight timelines and budgets. I was selected to stage Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage, a hilarious show about the breakdown of civility and social norms.

SOLUTION / I coordinated all aspects of the show from pre- to post-production, finding efficiencies while maintaining a cohesive artistic vision. By leading a 20-person cast and crew with empathy and trust, I built a collaborative environment that encouraged innovative creative choices. I iterated and revised production plans to accommodate ever-changing COVID regulations, maintaining effective communication at all times.

RESULTS / The show was a smash hit, selling out its run, receiving acclaim in local publications, and generating a profit for the company to start their new in-person season on a high note.

PRODUCTION RELEVANCE / This project illustrates my ability to execute a creative vision in accordance with budget and time constraints, manage production workflows, and lead creative & technical teams to success.
